Volunteering 2018

Off for another stint of volunteering at Crisis at Christmas today. Booked in to be a driver so if you're on the streets of South East England today best be a bit wary!

Very cold and windy (cold from wind) so hopefully nothing additional to dodge on the roads! All that courtesy of Winter Storm Eleanor!

Quieter today on commute

It's nice and quiet on the commute today too which is lovely!

First day back

Can't really complain actually, it's gone reasonably well.

Got lots done, loads of bits and bobs ticked off and means I should be good to knuckle down to something substantial on Thursday. Back out volunteering tomorrow.

Still feeling a bit dizzy, but nothing like yesterday so I will take what I have right now!

Lifecycle year of 2017

Let’s Go

Anyway, onwards and upwards, let’s enjoy the day and world as it is!

Been for a run (loved the size of the recycling bins everywhere with post Christmas beer cans and wine bottles!) and now feeling happy in bed and watching some darts (Phil the Power Taylor’s last ever game) before a good nights rest and some more fun no doubt back in the commute tomorrow!

Good Health

Of course the good health feels most important right now, firstly with Sardine and secondly as I have unfortunately managed to start the year with another bout of labyrinthitis. 2018 is the year I will definitely beat it!

Happy New Year

Well only 21 hours late, but Happy New Year one and all! Here’s hoping for a fruitful 2018 with lots of happiness and good health!

No posts over the weekend mainly due to Amanda being away and me being in charge ofDaddy Day Care all weekend. The wee man was excellent, so really enjoyed it and had such a blast with him!

Old Friend

Had a great meet up with Carlos Buzo today, an old colleague in Lloyd’s Banking Group. Always great to keep up with those about you who you get on well with! The big man was looking really good too!

Success

Big meeting at work went well today, ever so slowly getting there with respect of finishing up for Christmas and the New Year!

What a busy Sunday

Well that was a busy old day! Started with the little guy waking up at 5.30am and having decided he wanted in bed with Mummy and Daddy, didn’t sleep so it was downstairs at 6.30!

Lots of love fun care attention and breakfast and it was off swimming by 10! Fun at swimming, still a bit skittish when deep and not clinging onto neck but still likes the water. He was a wee mischief afterwards but a lollipop helped out a bit. Massive delays getting him with traffic jams so took an hour and that meant my trip to Richmond Park was a bit later than hoped!

Still I got a cracking 10kmin (see next post!) and really happy with time and effort!

Back home and it was Christmas Central, managed to put the tree up and have a family dinner! Shattered though, I’m a celebrity in bed tonight!

Working From Home Success!

Been a pretty successful working from home day today. Dialled into the calls at work ok, cracked in with work and just got stuff done!

Managed to get Kilt Hire sorted and head to dry cleaners perfectly well in lunch break too!

Even better news, Angus got a very good write up at hospital following operation on his retractile testes!

Excellent Leg Turnover

A good 3km let turnover this evening, certainlynot quick at 5min/km, but after 10km on Saturday and 4km of hills last night feel pretty good about things.

Furthermore it has made me feel happier too after a bit of a grumpy and boring afternoon!

Every now and then it's just the most frustrating and stupid line there is! Never know what platform to stand on at Bank, just gets so busy so quickly, it is infuriating!

Must remember to check out with the wife why my head is feeling strange at the back / too...especially as the dizziness hasn't disappeared!

Very much looking forward to going home tonight!

Play with the boy, maybe a quick run and then probably a bit of I'm a celebrity! Nice day working from home tomorrow too, focus for rest of week on write up, a process that has been nothing short of glacial so far as motivation has not been the highest!
