The view of Dubai Marina through the Dust!

Dubai

We're now well into Day 2, but our first full day in Dubai and all things set fairly well, jet lag has been just about won over, hotel is nice, food immense in quality and quantity and the little guy is loving time with his Mummy and Daddy! Considering we're in the desert though, you'd have thought it would have been warmer, as an ex-pat local commented as we walked past earlier...it's freezing, wearing in 20 degree temperatures, a puffer jacket and woolly hat!!!

Finally...

This Adult Reflux feels like it's diminishing in impact! Let's hope it stays that way for a wee while and I get a run of being healthy!

It's made me have a re-think on priorities and feeling generally happier about life in general just now. What i must do though is be strict with myself and hold myself accountable for more things!

How?

Two days after the event and watching a replay, I cannot work out how those New England Patriots came back to beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. There were approximately 10-15 moments, where it was: 'If this doesn't work for the Pats, they're done!' Every single time they came through!
Unbelievable!

Mummy is still over at Nanny's house so it's boys morning today, that's means getting outside and having fun. We'd already been to Fishponds and fed the ducks, so now it was time for some playtime at the park! Sadly it was too wet though, so Angus had to make do with some Saturday Strolling!

It was absolutely Baltic this morning on way to work...minus 4!

Shouldn't have those struggles in a fortnight in Singapore!

Beer and Football

As you may have seen from last nights post I managed to open my first Beer52 beer, a Christmas present from the in-laws. Beer52 is a subscription service where a monthly supply of 8 beers is provided to your residence, generally craft and you enjoy a range of beer not normally available at pubs and supermarkets!
Last nights was very fruity and enjoyed the start to my Beer52 journey!

Happily, I also caught the Spurs vs Chelsea game, a cagey game that Spurs won quite handily in the end 2-0 with a headed brace from Dele Alli. A much needed win for Spurs and also the other challengers with it slowly turning tighter at the top with the Big6 now about 10 points together! Could be a classic season but clearly Chelsea's winning streak stopping at 13 games (equalling a top flight English record) has allowed the bunch to keep in touch!

Alli was really the star of the show and the other main English hope Harry Kane looked out of touch and lacking both class and composure, unusual for him.

Beer52 - First Brew

Consistency? Maybe a little bit

So managed to actually remember to get back on here on Day 2! Day 1 was not too bad actually, whilst busy it also had the added benefit of being successful so that's a good start to the year!

Also as you'll see from the last Post via Strava, I even managed to sort myself out and get quite a long run in for the new year! Felt pretty good during, pretty good in the immediate aftermath, but this morning my legs are very sore! Will try for an elongated walk at lunchtime to get the lactic acid out of the muscles!

Day off tonight, will see the little one, don bath and bedtime then will watch Tottenham vs Chelsea, suddenly a big match with respect of the title and we're only in January!

New Year

New day! Back to work after a good festive period (some sickness and flight cancelled negatives aside!)

Always a strange day, first day back, whilst down and sad feelings emanate, a sense of familiarity and routine is always actually quite welcome after the craziness and how full in the festive period is!

Pretty certain today and the next couple of weeks will be very busy ahead of trip to Singapore, which at least mean the days should go quite quickly!

Going to miss the wife and little guy today though!

'Christmas' food fair

So I planned on walking to the Tate Modern this lunch to enjoy the Christmas fair, but on the way I cut through the Guildhall. What a pleasant surprise, a good market for lunch. All your normal stuff their, but having missed badly the Chorizo sandwiches from outside Triton Square from my Santander days, the choice was easy! Delicious!!!
