Strange to say…

…. It incredibly, almost 2 years to the day… give or take a week, I am back flying inter-continentally!

Off to Singapore for the first time since October 2019…time flies; or does it?!?!?!

BA11 is firing me down that way, of course, with a war that could be WWIII that isn't simple either, a wee detour over North Africa to get us there. Who knows, these trips tend to result in more posts, we will see I guess!

Yuk, horrible….horrible…no more to be said, fears beers!

Day 16 - Lockdown

What else are you meant to do when you have to take the dog for a walk on Christmas Day, especially when no one else wants to head out. Lovely, smooth fruity Pilsner, Guava and Grapefruit work well, almost felt summery more than anything else, great beer!

Day 15 - Certified Corporation

A final beer in Christmas Eve, a little bit behind where one needs to be.

Another lovely drinkable IPA with fruity feel; happy days, another enjoyable one.

Day 10 - Hazy Jane Peach

I realise I am out of whack here, missed this from the party evening…know I liked it though! #greatwriteup

Day 14 - Basic Shake

Another one that I looked at and thought, stop doing the effing sweetness beers, I thought ruddy milkshake this isn't going to work!

Then I only went and loved it…happy days, there was a touch of sweetness in it but not overbearing!

Day 13 - Light Speed

After last night I needed a belter and this really light hazy IPA was right up my street, so drinkable!!!

Day 12 - Elvis Juice

After the shocker of Day 10, it was straight into Day 11; Elvis Juice with a touch of Grapefruit!

Nice and fruity smell but surprisingly devoid of real flavour to taste, but after earlier good to have a drinkable beer; happy!

Day 11 - Layer Cake

So a bit of a break, felt a bit horrid after jab; Board week at work then holiday.

Back now and back on it.

Can't say was looking forward to this Marshmallow and Chocolate Stout…not really a stout fan anyway and well such a combo doesn't really come to mind with beer!

And it really was the strangest taste…first few sips manageable at best, but yeah that's the best, after that pretty much undrinkable!!!

Brilliant holiday; bit stressful with testing etc but everything we needed; kids were great!

Oof; seriously sore arm today where the booster jab went in…still got to look longer term and seems like everyone suffers with the same!

Day 9 - Double Hazy

Another twist on a classic…double hazy is very much the export strength version of the Hazy Jane belter. Quite strong it is too, but I will take it, after a long day and a booster jab it hits the spot!

Day 8 - Clock Work

A new one for me; but another good drink, could see one getting very drunk on this.

Thought it would be sweet and sticky but actually fruity whilst not overpowering…happy days!

Day 7 - Hazy Jane Guava

Another classic brewdog choice, but with a really refreshing twist. Another very drinkable; very enjoyable beer…loving this advent calendar!

Day 6 - Dead Pony Club

Dead pony club, another classic; a 'session' beer and one I know would cause problems the next morning!

To be fair another classic; nice lager on a Sunday; happy days!

Day 4 - Punk IPA

A classic; no worries not much to say, just lovely!

Day 3 - Lost in Mango

We'll no doubt this was a strange one…almost no taste but a hint of mango, but eminently drinkable and I could see a good session out on this! Yep randomly really liked it!

Day 2 - Tony’s Hopolonely

Well white chocolate and raspberry beer was how it was sold and I feared the worst…but actually it wasn't too bad.

Obviously ridiculously sweet and therefore drinkable whilst possibly not drinkable! Reminds me of the Strawberry beer at the Porterhouse in central London !

Day 1 - Planet Pale

Oof lovely Pale Ale to start off with; very smooth and happy days! Drinkable!

Commuting woes

It has been a while but have enjoyed commuting woes again this evening! 5.55pm train home cancelled…will miss seeing the kids now…almost makes you wish we were still in a pandemic!

Autumnal Colours in the Garden

Some serious colours in the garden right now, a real kaleidoscope of colours.

It's getting wet and will need cutting back sooner rather than later but really clear colours; love it!

Swimming - like old days

Had a really great evening last night, took myself off to Tamworth Leisure centre and went swimming…on my own…no kids…just me….a lane…and a fair amount of water.

Have to say I absolutely loved it, managed to do 2km in the 50 minutes I had, nothing really quick, just easy freestyle swimming…it was heaven. So good for the body and mind…slept like a dream last night, will definitely be doing again.

Let's see if it helps longer term with stress, mindfulness etc.

Westminster Masks

Never fails to amaze/amuse/confound that when I am on the tube coming through Westminster; home to our wonderful Parliament that there are literally less than half of commuters wearing masks! Baffling!
